Laude Honors System
Starting with the THS Class of 2020, the Ranking System has been replaced with the Laude Honors System.
- Laude System - A tiered system that recognizes students
for the rigor of their academic program, as well as their success in the
program.
- Summa Cum Laude: Highest Honor, 4.2 and higher cumulative gpa
- Magna Cum Laude: Great Honor, 4.0-4.199 cumulative gpa
- Cum Laude: Honor, 3.6-3.999 cumulative gpa
- Graduation Recognition Information Laude Recognition & Graduation Ceremony
Distinguished Scholars
A tradition of Tallmadge High School for recognition of student academic excellence
Eligibility will be based upon the Cumulative GPA after the first semester of each year
Criteria for the Class of 2025 and beyond will align with the Summa Cum Laude benchmark:
- 9th grade - ineligible, recognition starts in 10th grade
- 10th grade - 4.2 Cum GPA
- 11th grade - 4.2 Cum GPA
- 12th grade - 4.2 Cum GPA
Students who qualify will be personally invited to attend the Distinguished Scholars Banquet held each year in April.
