Multi-Tiered System of Supports

Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) is an integrated framework which addresses academic as well as social-emotional/behavioral development of children in order to meet the needs of all learners.  MTSS is a comprehensive approach that allows for universal academic and behavioral instruction as well as targeted interventions based on student need.  Academic Response to Intervention (RtI) and Positive Behavior Intervention Support (PBIS) are integral parts of MTSS.  Assessment, progress monitoring, and data-based decision making are used within this multi-tiered system in order to increase student achievement and behavioral proficiency.

MTSS is a fluid process with many variables in order to support learners.  Tallmadge City Schools is committed to doing everything possible with the resources we have available to help ALL students succeed.
