Class of 2021 Senior Meeting & Information

Hello Seniors in the Class of 2021!  This webpage contains important information regarding your senior year and activities.  Please read through it and share this information with your parents.

Senior Events:

I met with administrators and have discussed this information with the senior officers and exec board.  This is the current information for senior events as of today, 4/16/2021.  

May 7Senior Prom at St. George 6:30-9:30 p.m. 

(For any questions regarding Prom, please contact Arene Staszak)

    • Promenade, Prom Court Presentation, and Photo Ops

    • This year students will receive an email from Mrs. Staszak with a google form to fill out about who they are going with and who they plan to sit with.

    • Payment should be made in person to Mrs. Staszak in room 1506 during academy (10:05-11:35am).  

    • Ticket sales begin Monday, April 19 

    • Sales end Friday, April 30 - ALL PAYMENTS ARE DUE THIS DAY...NO EXCEPTIONS!

    • Couple, $80; Single, $40

  • Due to current covid restrictions, we are not planning to have dancing this year.

    • We will let you know if any of this changes.

    • We will still have a DJ either way.

  • This event is hosted by the Junior Execs but is only for seniors and their dates.

    • Seniors CAN bring guests from other schools (must fill-out guest form which will be available in the office and will be shared in the Friday prom email)

    • Seniors CAN bring dates who are THS students, regardless of grade.

  • Tallmadge Photography will be onsite to take formal photos, as well as snapshots of promenade


May 10: Last Day of School for BLUE students: NO SENIOR EXAMS

  ***Blue Day - Senior Chromebook Turn-in - 9:00am-10:00am in THS Rotunda
Seniors who attend on Blue Day will turn in their Chromebooks in the High School Rotunda.  Please make sure to bring your case, power adapter, power cord and of course your chromebook.  A brief inventory and visual inspection will be conducted.  If you do not turn in your chromebook and all associated items, you will not receive your cap and gown.

May 11Last Day of School for GOLD students: NO SENIOR EXAMS

  ***Gold Day - Senior Chromebook Turn-in - 9:00am-10:00am in THS Rotunda
Seniors who attend on Gold Day will turn in their Chromebooks in the High School Rotunda.  Please make sure to bring your case, power adapter, power cord and of course your chromebook.  A brief inventory and visual inspection will be conducted.  If you do not turn in your chromebook and all associated items, you will not receive your cap and gown. 


Seniors and their families are invited to attend the showing of the Senior Video at Midway Drive-in at 2736 OH-59 in Ravenna, OH 44266.

  • Gates will open at 8:30pm to Tallmadge seniors and their families ONLY.  

  • A ticket to the Drive-in event will be given prior to the event. You must have your ticket to enter the facility.  

  • The video showing will begin promptly at 9:20pm.  The video will be approximately 30-45 minutes.

  • Fireworks will begin after the showing of the video.

  • Restrooms and concession stand will be open and available.  

  • Cars will be parked in every other spot to allow for social distancing when sitting outside your car, in front or behind it.

  • Attendees must wear masks when not seated in your parking spot. 

  • Attendees must exit the facility as soon as the fireworks are done. 

  • Senior Video submissions should be given to Ava Updegraff.  You may email her pictures from your K-12 experiences to .  Senior Video submissions are due by April 30.

May13: Last chance to turn in Chromebooks. - 9:00am-10:00am in THS Rotunda
Seniors who have not yet turned in their chromebooks will have one final opportunity to do so.  Please make sure to bring your case, power adapter, power cord and of course your chromebook.  A brief inventory and visual inspection will be conducted.  If you do not turn in your chromebook and all associated items, you will not receive your cap and gown. 


  • Seniors only will be invited to attend the Senior Breakfast and Senior Awards ceremony.

  • Seniors need to report to THS by 8am to check-in and board buses that will take them to St. George.  Seniors will not be permitted to drive themselves to this event.  

  • Appropriate attire is required for this event.  We recommend “business casual” or “church clothes” as your appropriate attire. 

  • There will be 6 seniors to a table at Senior Breakfast.  You have the opportunity to sign-up your table on the Google Form below.  If you do not have a preference, leave that question blank.  

  • Please complete this Google Form in regards to your attendance, who you will be seated with, and a meal preference for Senior Breakfast:

  • The Senior Slideshow will be shown during this breakfast as well.  Please email your senior photo, a baby picture, and information about what you are doing next year to Halle Caruso at .  Senior Slideshow submissions are due by May 6. 

  • We will be livestreaming this event for family and friends to watch.  The recorded breakfast will also be posted on the Tallmadge Schools YouTube channel for viewing after the event. 

May 14: CAP & GOWN PICK-UP @ THS (following Senior Breakfast)

  • Graduation cap and gown will be distributed in the High School Rotunda on Friday, May 14 immediately following Senior Breakfast.  

  • All senior fees and fines must be paid before receiving a cap and gown.  

  • Please try on your cap and gown as soon as you get home.  If you have any problems, contact Mrs. Headrick.

  • You do not need pay for your cap and gown, but you do need to submit your sizes.  I emailed seniors on Tuesday that had not submitted the information yet.  If you received this email, please respond to Mrs. Headrick ASAP. 


  • Seniors are invited to be a part of this Graduation Parade that will begin at the Tallmadge High School student lot and make its way through the city.

  • Each senior must be in their own car and must be driven by a family member.  Other family members are allowed to be in the car with their senior.  Everyone must remain in their cars for the line-up, parade, and after the parade.  Please do not congregate.

  • Please plan on arriving at THS between 5:30pm and 6pm to line up for the parade.

  • Please enter the high school facility at the BACK TEACHER ENTRANCE on N. Munroe (by the stadium).  Drive around to the student lot from this entrance.  Seniors are asked to park IN A PARKING SPACE in the student lot upon arriving at THS for the parade.  Please follow the directions of the staff as they direct you to park your car for the parade. We will exit for the parade from the parking spaces. 

  • We will leave promptly at 6pm.  You and your family must remain in your car while waiting for the parade to begin. 

  • Decorate your car.  Suggestions include a poster with your name and what you are doing next year (which college, work, etc), streamers, balloons, and lights to adorn your car.  None of this is required but have fun in presenting yourself to the community.

  • If you decide to wear your cap and gown in the parade, please understand that we do not have replacement items for the actual ceremony.  You are responsible for anything that may happen to your cap and/or gown.  Please consider this when deciding what to wear in the parade. 

  • A finalized parade route will be communicated in the next few weeks to both seniors and the community.   

  • Teachers from TES, TMS, and THS schools will be invited to wave and cheer the seniors outside of their respective buildings on the TES/TMS campus. 

  • Similarly, we will invite community members to cheer our seniors, wear blue and gold, decorate their yards, and celebrate the Class of 2021.  We will communicate the route to the community soon.



  • Seniors should report to the AUDITORIUM by 10am for Graduation Practice.  We will begin in the auditorium and then will proceed to the stadium as part of the practice. 

  • Seniors should find your seat with your name posted on it. Students who are masters of ceremony and speakers will sit on the stage. 

  • Graduation practice is approximately 2 hours.  We will walk through the ceremony from beginning to end as many times as we need to to ensure that the ceremony runs smoothly.


May 17: PANORAMIC PICTURE @ THS Stadium (immediately after practice)

  • We will be taking our senior class panoramic picture in the bleachers of the stadium immediately following Graduation Practice. 

  • We encourage all seniors to wear a shirt that represents where/what they will be doing next year.  Whether you are enrolling, enlisting, or will be employed, wear a shirt that showcases your plans for next year. 

  • Order information for the picture will be available closer to the date.

May 17: SENIOR PICNIC @ THS STADIUM (immediately after Panoramic Picture)

  • The Junior Exec Board will be hosting the Senior Picnic in the stadium immediately following the Panoramic Picture.  There will be a boxed lunch and outdoor field activities. 

May 18: GRADUATION @ the Tallmadge Blue Devil Stadium @ 6pm

  • Due to restrictions on seating capacity and number of graduates allowed at EJ Thomas Hall, we will be holding the Class of 2021 Graduation Ceremony at the Tallmadge Blue Devil Stadium @ 6pm on Tuesday, May 18. The rain date will be Wednesday, May 19 if weather is severe enough for us to postpone.  The Graduation Ceremony will be live streamed on the Tallmadge Schools YouTube Channel.

  • Seniors must report to the THS Auditorium and be seated in his/her assigned seat by 5:15pm.

  • Have your cap and gown on when you assemble for roll-call in the Auditorium.  You should also be wearing any cords and/or honor diploma medal and/or class officer sash that you earned on at this point.  

  • At 5:50 p.m., the lines will move into position for the processional.  

  • Inappropriate dress will result in your removal from the processional line and the graduation ceremony.  NO T-SHIRTS, JEANS, SHORTS, FLIP-FLOPS, TENNIS SHOES, BOOTS.  NOTHING IS TO BE ADDED TO GRADUATION CAPS!  Recommended: for males – dark dress pants, dress shirt with collar, tie, dress shoes; for females – white or pastel dresses, comfortable dress shoes (no heels), no dark or print dresses, no really short skirts, little or no jewelry.  

  • Because the Graduation ceremony will be on the turf field, seniors are not permitted to wear heels.  Please no high heels (including wedge).  Shoes should be flats or low, wedge heel. 

  • Each senior will receive 8 tickets for family and close loved ones to attend the graduation ceremony. Each senior planning to walk at graduation must fill out this Google Form to register their 8 tickets:

  • Once you submit the form, you cannot edit your responses unless you talk directly with Mrs. Headrick about any changes

  • You are not allowed to share your tickets with anyone else. There are also no additional tickets available.  Please understand that there are guidelines we must follow to even have a graduation ceremony.  Your understanding is greatly appreciated. 

  • For a loved one to attend Graduation, his/her name must be the one registered to the graduate and he or she must have a ticket upon entering.  There will be no re-admittance once you have entered the stadium.

  • If you need handicap accessibility for parking, drop-off, or seating, please contact Mrs. Headrick at 330-633-5505 x1619 so she may review with you what you need to know.  Only those that have contacted her and made handicap accessibility arrangements will have those seats assigned to them and have their own drop-off location.

  • Seating is first come, first serve.  Gates will open at 4:45pm.  Gates will close at 5:55pm.   Once the ceremony begins with the processional, guests will NOT be admitted into the stadium. 

  • Parking for graduates and guests is in the student parking lot.  The teacher parking lot will only be available for faculty and staff that are helping with the ceremony. 

  • At the conclusion of the ceremony, the graduates will proceed out of the stadium first.  After they have exited, guests in the bleachers will be released.  Please exit immediately from the stadium and please do not congregate in the parking lot.

  • Graduation Handshake Picture –Lifetouch Pictures will take a picture of seniors as they are handed their diplomas.  More information and the picture proof will be sent to you after graduation.

PTSA Kiss a Senior Goodbye

  • PTSA will having the Kiss a Senior Goodbye event this year.  Consider wishing a graduating senior a special goodbye with a 10 oz. Chocolate Kiss from Hartville!

  • $10 per Kiss

  • Chocolate Kisses will only be delivered to senior students.

  • Please complete this form and return it completed with the appropriate payment (cash or check) in a sealed envelope. Checks should be made payable to THS PTSA. You can EITHER:

    • Mail it to THS PTSA, 520 S. Ridgecliff St., Tallmadge, OH 44278 , OR

    • Drop it off at the Tallmadge High School Front Office (attention: Brenda Hipkins)

  • Order Deadline: April 25, 2021

  • Orders will be delivered during the school day on Wednesday, May 5th (Gold day) and Thursday, May 6th (Blue day)

Other Available Senior Items:

  • Virtual Baby Wall: Create a Google Slide showcasing your senior.  Please include name and photos on the slide.  Highlight your senior as you want!  Suggestions include baby pictures, pictures growing up, information on accomplishments, information on plans for next year.  Seniors may SHARE completed slides with Kelli Christopher.  She will post on Twitter and will also get the slide to the yearbook staff. Each slide will be featured in the 2021 yearbook as part of the Senior Congratulations section of the yearbook. 

  • Tallmadge Photography, our official school photographer, is offering Yard Signs and Graduation Banners. Orders must be placed by April 24. For more information or to order, please call 330-633-2291 or order online at

Order your Senior Yearbook:

  • If you have not already ordered your own copy of the 2021 yearbook, please go to and use code 3106 or search Tallmadge High School to place your order.  Yearbook sales close on April 30. 

Senior Dues:

  • At this time, senior dues have been waived by Tallmadge City Schools Administration for the Class of 2021.  Though senior dues have been waived, all other outstanding dues must be paid for a student to receive their cap & gown and to walk at Graduation.  These balances can be found on your EZ pay account.

Stay in touch:

  • Continue to check your email regularly as this will be the primary way of communicating information to you for your senior year.  Pay attention to your email and ask Mrs. Headrick, your officers, or your senior exec board if you have any questions.
